We are thrilled to announce that our editorial director, Amanda Lewis, has been shortlisted for Editors Canada’s prestigious 2020 Tom Fairley Award for Editorial Excellence.

The Tom Fairley Award is presented annually to an exceptional editor who played an important role in the success of a project completed in English or French.

Amanda was nominated for her work on Indigenous Relations: Insights, Tips & Suggestions to Make Reconciliation a Reality by Bob Joseph with Cynthia F. Joseph—a challenging project to adapt a training manual for professionals for a popular audience, and bring it from concept to bookshelf in just five months.

Amanda’s sensitivity to Indigenous issues and her deep respect for the authors’ approach helped bring this award-nominated title to life, which aims to help non-Indigenous Canadians create respectful relationships and work well with Indigenous people.
