It’s always exciting when new books arrive from the printer, and this week we were overjoyed to receive early copies of Jean Hough Davey’s memoir. The Only Woman in the Room is Jean’s story of becoming one of the first women in North America to be licensed as a stockbroker, at a time when women weren’t welcome in the financial world.
Serious writers are also serious readers. They learn by reading how other talented writers craft a sentence or an argument, how they handle pacing and character development, and the various other elements that must be considered when writing a book.
