After thirty (collective) years in the book business, you’d think we’d have developed writers’ festival fatigue. The packed schedules of readings, author events, and parties are their own form of marathon. But although the festival circuit is busy, it’s also incredibly energizing; it never fails to raise our spirits and reignite our excitement about the book world. There’s nothing like watching the connections made between writers and their fans – readers meeting in person the authors whose books have changed their lives, and writers seeing with their own eyes the results of their solitary work.
We’ve been taking in the Vancouver Writers Fest this week, and we’re heading to Toronto’s International Festival of Authors next week. Follow our Twitter feed @pagetwobooks for IFOA updates from the road.
