THE ROLE

Page Two is seeking a full-time Sales Associate. We’re on the lookout for an individual who’s driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about books. The ideal candidate must possess strong critical thinking skills, an unerring eye for sales numbers and reports, impeccable attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They should thrive in a dynamic environment, juggling various tasks with ease while bringing creativity to the table. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in managing the sales and distribution process, ensuring a seamless experience for our authors, and working closely with the Sales team to review and strategize on a number of key initiatives. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with a dedicated team across departments and maintain strong relationships with our valued clients.

We accommodate hybrid in-office and remote work arrangements. Page Two’s office is located in Vancouver and we also subscribe to a co-working space in Toronto. The ideal candidate will be based either in Vancouver who will work out of the Vancouver office several times a week, or in the Greater Toronto Area, who will be able to work in person with our sales team at our co-working space on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the sales and distribution experience and process for Page Two authors.
  • Provide feedback on sales targets and strategy/plans created by the Sales Director, and execute sales strategies/plans and related sales activities to meet or, where possible, exceed sales targets and other expectations.
  • Manage and optimize metadata for frontlist and backlist titles to drive consumer engagement.
  • Report on all sales-related client issues and support efficient and proactive resolution.
  • Work with the Sales Administrator to ensure sufficient inventory/stock levels are maintained and ordered to meet customer demand and anticipated sales.
  • Liaise between our distribution partners and in-house departments to ensure the regular flow of sales, production, marketing, and publicity information to stakeholders.
  • Represent Page Two and the sales team in author-client meetings, where needed, and provide optimal client services.

This position reports to the Sales Director.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Preferred skills/qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or publishing industry experience.
  • Requires a sales focus and customer-centric approach.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize, is key.
  • Strong computer skills; intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Booknet, Catalist and Bookscan an asset.
  • Works well in a hybrid in-person and remote team environment.
  • Proficiency working with digital workflows and content management systems (e.g. Google Workspace, Smartsheets, or other time-management applications).

 

WHAT WE OFFER
$50,000 to $60,000 per year, based on experience.

Location

Page Two is seeking a candidate in the Lower Mainland of BC or the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario. Our head office is in Vancouver, and we have a co-working membership at a central location in downtown Toronto. We offer the possibility of hybrid at-home and in-office work. Regular in-person work is required at either location.
