What does your role at Page Two involve, and what are you most excited to contribute?
My day-to-day at Page Two is all about author onboarding and operational excellence. I’m thrilled to be contributing to the evolution of our manuals and workflows. For me, it’s all about the ‘win-win’: making sure our authors feel supported from day one and ensuring our team does what they do best—create incredible books!
How long have you lived in Vancouver and what’s one of your favourite things to do here?
I’ve called Vancouver home for four years now, and this city still manages to amaze me every single day! When I’m not at my desk, you’ll almost always find me heading for the mountains—I love hiking and discovering new trails across the North Shore.
What’s your go-to productivity hack?
I’m a big fan of the Pomodoro technique for daily tasks, but when I’m diving into something brand new, I go into deep-focus mode. I find that if I lock my eyes on the screen and consciously ‘turn off’ my peripheral sight and hearing, I can stay in the zone until the project is complete. It’s my version of a flow state!
What’s the soundtrack to your workday?
A mix of jazz, 70s, and 80s classics usually fills my workday. This blend gives the perfect balance of calm focus and upbeat energy.
What’s a fun fact about you that people may not know?
Here’s a fun one: I was almost named Tammy! My dad was inspired by a popular 80s actress, but back then, the local registry in Brazil wouldn’t allow it because it wasn’t considered a ‘Brazilian name.’ My dad had to think on his feet! He chose Graziela, after a news reporter known for her powerful and engaging stories. The hardest part? Breaking the news to my mom! Luckily, she ended up loving the choice.
What are you currently reading?
On my nightstand right now is The Witch of Willow Sound! It’s a feminist gothic mystery by Canadian author Vanessa F. Penney, featuring a protagonist who is absolutely tough-as-nails. If you love eerie settings and fierce female leads, I highly recommend adding this one to your list!
