We’re welcoming another new hire here at Page Two. Say hello to sales associate Madelaine Manson!
Madelaine comes to us with a variety of publishing experience, including sales and business development at Penguin Random House Canada, ad sales in the magazine industry, and a publishing certificate from Centennial College. In addition to publishing, she has a background in the tech space, where she worked in market development at DocuSign. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Carleton University.
As a sales associate, she works closely with our authors and distribution partners to ensure that our books are well-positioned in the market. This is a brand new role at Page Two, and we can’t wait to see how she runs with it. Keep reading to learn more about the multi-talented Madelaine!
What are you most excited to tackle in your new role as sales associate?
I’m super excited to collaborate with the awesome team at Page Two! Really looking forward to expanding the bulk sales program, supporting our distribution partners, digging into metadata to optimally position our titles in the market, and working closely with our authors to plan and implement their sales strategies.
You never leave home without…
If you could go back in time, what time period would you travel to and why?
Probably the late ‘60s/early ‘70s for the music! I love that era.
Who is your favourite author?
So many! Emma Straub and Lily King are some more recent favourites. Cheryl Strayed is an all-time favourite, along with Paulo Coelho. My taste is random and varied, though. I love having a few books on the go and dipping into different genres.
How do you like to unwind?
I love hiking and spending time outdoors. I recently moved to Vancouver from Toronto, so I’m looking forward to exploring BC as much as I can this summer! Most days though, I like going for walks, listening to a good podcast, and cooking dinner at home.
