We’re thrilled to announce that book industry veteran Mary Trentadue has joined Page Two to support several key company initiatives, including business development and building special sales programs. As a publisher, we’re fortunate to bring in someone with many years of book retail experience, and particularly Mary, who is well respected in the publishing industry as well as in the community at large.
Mary has spent over 15 years in the book industry. She was the founder and operator of the much-loved independent bookstore, 32 Books, in North Vancouver. She received several awards and nominations for her business, culminating in a nomination for a Libris Award for “Best Bookstore in Canada.” After selling 32 Books, she worked with a few other well-known and established bookstores in BC, including Book Warehouse and Kidsbooks.
More recently, Mary started another business called 32 Solutions. Yes, there is a theme here—her last name, Trentadue, means 32 in Italian. 32 Solutions provides online business and project management services. Mary has been largely working with CEOs and entrepreneurs in the health and technology sector. Not being able to completely leave the book business behind, she has been working with self-published authors and providing project management support for a local literary festival. Mary is also a City Councilor in the City of New Westminster currently serving her second term.
Mary shared with us this generous statement: “I am so excited about the opportunity to work with Jesse, Trena, and the team at Page Two Strategies. My heart is in the book business and supporting authors to achieve their goals. Witnessing the level of professionalism, commitment, and energy that Page Two delivers to its authors is truly inspiring and I’m so happy to be joining them.”
The feeling is more than mutual! We’re already feeling the benefit of Mary’s bookselling savvy, her thoughtful and nuanced approach to exploring marketing opportunities, and her entrepreneurial mindset. We can’t wait to see her take our program in exciting new directions.
