As a publisher, there’s nothing quite like seeing an author soar to bestseller status.
We recently had the pleasure of watching Leslie Ehm hit two industry-leading bestseller lists. Her new book, Swagger: Unleash Everything You Are and Become Everything You Want, launched two short weeks ago and has already been named a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestseller. It also reached #1 on Amazon and is attracting a flurry of media attention in Canada and the United States.
We caught up with Leslie to chat about this recent win and her hopes for Swagger’s undoubtedly bright future.
1. How does it feel to see your book on these bestseller lists?
The biggest thrill is knowing that the Swagger message is breaking through! All I want in this world is for people to read the book, do the work, and allow themselves to be everything they are. Getting on those lists just proves to me that Swagger is on the verge of something special and magical—maybe even a revolution! As for me as an author, I mean, COME ON! Actors have the Oscars. Musicians have the Grammys. Authors have The Wall Street Journal. So I’d like to thank the academy…
2. Outside of these wins, what has been the most rewarding part of your publishing journey so far?
I had to put my money where my mouth was in terms of trusting my voice as a writer. Now I know I can and should. I also learned how to ask for help (which I’ve never been great at). The outpouring of love, support, and guidance from countless people made the book’s success possible. From everyone at Page Two, to my fellow authors, industry geniuses, amazing friends, Bookstagrammers, and podcasters. My mind is blown by the generosity of all of these humans. I asked and they gave. Lesson learned.
3. What’s next for Swagger?
Next up is recording the audiobook, getting back to speaking, keeping the book sales fires burning past this crazy launch period, and creating some brand new Swagger programs for my people to dive into. I have no intention of letting up until Swagger has been FULLY unleashed into the world.
