What do you find most rewarding about your role?
I have the opportunity to support authors when their books are at the finish line. Whether I’m helping them upload their files for distribution or sending them their links that have gone live, I get to see how excited they are to finally see months of hard work pay off.
If you had to describe yourself using only three emojis, what would they be and why?
🏰 I am very invested in learning anything and everything about the Middle Ages. All the media I consume revolves around it.
🍱 Growing up, food was always a big part of my life and it still is today. Once a year, I go to my Babcia’s house and we make our annual batch of pierogis together.
😴 I’m always in need of a nap
What’s a book you’ve read recently that you would highly recommend?
I always recommend The Last Duel by Eric Jager. It’s one of those books where truth really is stranger than fiction. If you’re into drama and history, you’ll love it.
What is the most interesting thing you’ve already crossed off your bucket list?
Spending New Year’s in another country. My partner and I decided to celebrate every other New Year’s outside of Toronto, and in 2023 going into 2024, we got to celebrate it in Iceland. When midnight hit, fireworks were everywhere, there wasn’t a single spot in the sky you couldn’t find them.
If you could teleport anywhere in the world right now for a 15-minute break, where would you go?
I would go back to Zakopane in Poland and spend some time relaxing by a fire in a cabin. I love being surrounded by the mountains.
What’s your go-to playlist on a work day?
I listen to a lot of ambient music while I work. My go-to artist is Aphex Twin, and they actually ended up as my top artist on Spotify because of how often I play their music during the workday.
